If you’ve been online a while, you’ve probably seen those cute little boy or girl avatars in email signature lines, or on web sites.  Sometimes they’re animated, sometimes not.  Well, those are often made by what’s known as a Candybar Doll Maker.  The brainchild of a Korean web designer, Candybar Doll Maker avatars have spread all across the Web in recent years.

Using a Candybar Doll Maker program is very easy – and lots of fun!  You simply go to the site and wait for the images to load (which can take a couple of minutes if you’re using dial-up Internet access or the site is busy).  You can choose from either a boy or girl avatar ‘base.’  It’s just a blank body with no hair and no facial features (usually nude or just wearing undergarments).  They’re virtually all G-rated, but parents should still supervise on the off chance their kids will find one that’s not so kid-friendly.  Then you simply choose from the many accessories to create your own unique, custom doll.

Serious Candybar Doll Maker programs allow you to add different eyes, hair, noses, mouths, glasses, shirts/blouses, pants/skirts, shoes/sandals, and lots of jewelry accessories.  The more components you can change, the more addicting doll makers are!
