Using Doll Room Makers

Once you’ve created a bunch of dolls you like from doll makers, you’ll want to use doll room makers to give them a place to hang out!  Doll room makers usually offer huge backgrounds that you can put on a site to make a “home” for your doll.  Or, they can be just a small background to use behind your doll for emails and such.

Most doll room makers include wallpaper, furniture, and some accessories, but if you find yourself limited, tap into some of the accessories from the doll makers.  You can really make the room personalized if you fill it with all the things you love.   Don’t just have furniture - include pets, extra clothes, and all of the things that you have in your own room.

If you’ve looked at doll room makers and just aren’t happy with what they have to offer, join a doll forum at Yahoo or MSN.  People who are really talented with graphics programs join these forums, and they are often happy to help you make a whole full room for your doll.  If you’re interested, they can even help you learn to make one yourself!

If you have access to Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, you can skip the doll room makers and make your own room.  Do a search for ‘doll room tutorial’ on Google.  You will find a lot of sites that take you through the process of making your own room, step by step.  You’ll get to learn about warping and changing perspectives to make it look like a bed is angled in your doll’s room, for example.  If you find out you’re pretty good at it, you might even be getting practice for a future graphic design career!
