My Buddy Doll Song

Remember the My Buddy Doll Song?

It was a silly, catchy tune in the 1980s.  If you’re old enough to remember the TV commercials for the boy dolls called My Buddy Doll, then you probably have the My Buddy Doll song lodged somewhere in the recesses of your mind.  Oh yes, it’s in there – just lurking and ready to spring out, probably at a most inopportune moment.  OK, everybody get ready to sing along to the My Buddy Doll song…

The Official My Buddy Doll Song Lyrics

“My Buddy, My Buddy,

Wherever I go, he goes.

My Buddy, My Buddy,

I’ll teach him everything that I know…

My Buddy and me

Like to climb up a tree.

My buddy and me

We're the best friends that could be.

My Buddy, My Buddy

My Buddy and Meeeee!”

There now, that wasn’t so bad, was it?  Well, I sincerely hope that posting the My Buddy Doll song lyrics didn’t cause any nightmarish 80s flashbacks, dear readers!

My Buddy was the brainchild of an enterprising and politically correct toy maker at Hasbro.  He or she decided that boys wanted dolls, just like so many little girls carried around with them everywhere.  And, of course, everyone knows that dolls must have catchy theme songs.  And so, the My Buddy Doll song was born!

The My Buddy Doll song was, to put it gently, apparently not something into which the musical geniuses over at Hasbro put a lot of effort.  But, then again, maybe there was method to their madness.  After all, it infested your memory banks, didn’t it?  You might not have known it was in there, but it was and now it’s been set loose upon your world again.  Have a nice day!
